Kiti and the Night (Part 2)

28 pages

The Halloween adventure continues with Kiti facing her fears hand in hand with her Amigurumi friends.

Part two, which is also the Halloween one. Kiti faces what frightened her, but not alone: she does it hand in hand with the other Amigurumis, and that is the difference between this story and most stories about overcoming a fear. There is no moment where she suddenly becomes brave. There are friends beside her, and the fear gets smaller because it is shared. For a child going through the same thing, that version is more believable and easier to copy than the hero who stopped being afraid.

What this piece works on

  • Asking for help, and that asking is not the opposite of being brave.
  • That a shared fear weighs less than one kept to yourself.
  • Halloween as a game with fright, inside a safe frame.

Watching together

Watch part one first. If the child is still thinking about it, the Halloween song La Luz Mala touches the same theme more lightly.
